The highly anticipated TOKEN2049 week in Singapore may have officially kickstarted Day 1 on 18 September, but aelf started the party early by hosting a capacity crowd at HELLO [AI]!
Held on 16 September at the iconic SKAI Loft atop Swissotel, we witnessed a convergence of blockchain and AI enthusiasts and industry experts; the event was graced by co-host Gaia, partners such as Sapien and NEAR Protocol, and supported by Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft, and more. We were also joined by bright minds in the AI and blockchain fields for a panel discussion and a fireside chat.
It sure set the tone for a Web3-fueled week!
H-AI-light Reel
From the moment guests stepped into SKAI Loft, it was clear that this was no ordinary party. Attendees were greeted with a lively atmosphere made special with a rooftop view of the Singapore Grand Prix F1 racetrack, and they mingled over a delectable spread of canapes and champagne.
With the gamified entranceway already setting the stage, guests were treated to on-site games and opportunities to snag rewards. Upon entry, guests wasted no time trying their hands at the claw machine, which was stocked with exclusive merchandise from aelf, Portkey, Sapien, and Gaia.
Up the stairs on the mezzanine, the AI photobooth drew eager crowds, with participants striking poses and minting their own NFTs on Forest using their new digital keepsakes.
As they waited in line, they had the option of scanning QR codes on display, and engaging in games like Hamster Wood, and adopting a digital cat in Project Schrodinger.
It's not a proper party without a DJ tending to the decks. DJ Val dictated the pace of the space by introducing groovy house tunes, before getting HELLO [AI] guests amped up with electrifying bangers. But unlike other parties, this wasn't solely decided by the DJ; guests had a say in the music selection — at the eleventh hour, literally — by going into TMRWDAO's newly launched Votigram bot on Telegram to vote for their preferred music genre. All voters stood a chance to win from a 100 USDT prize pool.
The spirit of competition was further fueled by the opportunity to earn Crypto Boxes containing $SGR and $ELF tokens, adding a tangible reward to the festivities. The evening took for an intermission with a blend of networking and thought-provoking discussions on blockchain and AI.
Opening Speech by aelf COO, Brian Liang
With the buzz of the Web3 crowd picking up in the first hour, aelf's COO, Brian Liang, officially heralded the start of HELLO [AI] and extended a warm welcome to guests. He gave a brief introduction to aelf's AI vision, along with the panel discussion and fireside chat that were about to take place.
Panel Discussion: AI-Powered Blockchain Application
Speakers:
- Chris May, Head of Global Sales, Sapien
- CC Chen, AI Blockchain Expert, Google Cloud
- Steve Shirkey, Director, Azure AI (ANZ, ASEAN, Korea), Microsoft
- Sydney Lai, Head of Developer Advocacy, Gaia
The panel discussion, comprising of esteemed speakers from Google Cloud, Microsoft, Sapien, and Gaia, dissected a matter that was close to heart: AI blockchains. They swiftly confronted hallucinations in AI, an issue that has been dogging the revolution of AI blockchains. With anecdotes of real-world applications and personal experiences, they spoke about solutions that could reduce such risks in dApp building and smart contracts, and ways to improve interoperability between AI and blockchain networks.
Fireside Chat: Can AI Become Truly Decentralised?
Speakers:
- Emad Mostaque, Founder of SchellingAI, a project that advocates for open-source, decentralised AI development
- Luki Song, Head of Ecosystem & Strategy, Chainbase, a Web3 data infrastructure provider that strives to be the world's largest omnichain data network
During the fireside chat, Mostaque and Song tackled the issue of centralised AI squarely, and whether it can fully operate on a distributed model where everyone has a say in AI innovations.
They explored the challenges and opportunities presented by decentralised AI, touching on topics such as data ownership, algorithmic transparency, and the role of blockchain infrastructures in Web3 and AI integrations. Both speakers also spoke about what decentralisation meant to them personally, and how AI can effectively be integrated into decentralised platforms.
Looking Ahead
As the lights dimmed on the SKAI Loft, the energy and enthusiasm generated at HELLO [AI] were palpable. The event not only served as a spectacular kickoff to TOKEN2049 but also underscored aelf's commitment to the growth and application of decentralisation and AI.
Lucky Draw: Winners' Announcement
We would like to thank everyone who graced HELLO AI and made it a resounding success. If you have participated on Votigram and taken a shot at our AI photobooth, this is a gentle reminder to follow Tomorrow DAO and aelf's X channels to see if you're one of the lucky winners of the 100 USDT prize pot!
