aelf Network

In January 2025, aelf made significant progress in optimising the developer experience and upgrading the network with cutting-edge features.

These efforts highlight aelf's commitment to innovation and reducing barriers for ecosystem contributors.

1. Adjusting System Parameters to Enhance Developer Experience

On 9 January 2025, aelf adjusted its system parameters, reducing the base fees for auditless deployment and upgrade methods on the aelf MainChain by 80%. The costs were lowered from 50,000 ELF to 10,000 ELF, significantly reducing the barrier for developers to deploy and upgrade smart contracts without BP vote approval.

This adjustment dramatically improves the developer experience, making the Web3 AI ecosystem more accessible and cost-effective.

2. aelf Mainnet Successfully Upgraded to v1.12.0

On 22 January 2025, aelf Mainnet completed its upgrade to v1.12.0. The upgrade includes features such as streamlined cross-chain transfers, enhanced transaction management with expiration indicators, and expanded support to improve development capabilities, including ZK contract development.

These improvements further strengthen aelf's technical foundation as an AI layer 1, reinforcing its prominence in blockchain innovation.

aelf Successfully Burns 295 Million ERC-20 ELF Tokens

In a move to strengthen its tokenomics and promote migration to the Mainnet ecosystem, aelf has successfully burned 295,519,800 ERC-20 ELF tokens. This was done to prevent duplication and ensure the total ELF supply remains unchanged.

This marks the second burn, following 393M ELF burned in September 2023.

ELF token holders will not be affected. Token swaps via eBridge, ETransfer, or supported exchanges remain available.

In January 2025, AeFinder underwent multiple version upgrades, introducing a major update by adding AeIndexer resource charging capabilities to enhance its revenue model. This functionality has been successfully deployed on the Mainnet.

To boost security, Portkey has stopped supporting email sign-ups for new accounts. Existing email-based accounts are safe, but users are encouraged to switch to more secure login methods like Google or Apple for enhanced protection with zkLogin technology.

aelf AI blockchain ecosystem - January 2025

The starting month of 2025 saw the aelf ecosystem triple its total asset inflow, from 319K in December 2024 to 940K in January 2025. Total value locked also increased from 17 million to 22.8 million.

Sentiments in the wider crypto market were buoyant against the backdrop of Trump's official return to the White House; in the time that led up to the monumental political handover, aelf bolstered its AI portfolio with the launch of aevatar.ai, a no-code AI agent framework, as well as an AI pump pad for users to tokenise their AI agents.

Microsoft Azure x aelf AI Agent Workshop

The aelf team recently had the opportunity to collaborate with Microsoft Azure in Singapore for a workshop exploring the potential of AI agents.

There were thought-provoking discussions around how multi-agent systems can work together effectively, delving into the intricacies of Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) – an interesting area with huge potential for AI development.

The workshop also got into the nuts and bolts of prompt engineering, and ways to optimise interactions with these intelligent agents.

As a layer 1 AI blockchain, aelf has been keen to contribute to a future where Web2 and Web3 are effectively bridged, and new levels of innovation and interoperability are witnessed in decentralised ecosystems. This workshop with Microsoft Azure was a step towards making that vision a reality.

A new year begets new beginnings. True to the spirit of innovation, we are pushing the boundaries of what AI blockchain can do; right after our aevatar.ai launch, we are already looking forward to our 2025 roadmap, which includes near-view goals of core modules and advanced blockchain infrastructures, to long-term milestones of a fully operational modular blockchain and cloud-native AI integration.
